Nahit Şahin has been re-elected to serve afurther term as President of the Turkish Baseball & Softball Federationwith overwhelming support.
Sahin finished ahead of his predecessor Murat Pazan and highlighted the need to grow the baseball and softball community in Türkiye, who hosted their first ever WBSC event when the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup was played in Ankara in 2023, where the national team finished fourth.
Sahin said: "In the upcoming term, we aim to achieve great success across all our branches, provide quality services, and introduce new athletes, coaches, referees and umpires to the sports community.
"By harnessing the unifying power of sports, we believe we can take even greater strides together. During this process, we prioritise encouraging young people to engage in sports and contribute to society as we work hand in hand for the development of all our branches. Together, we will strive to demonstrate that sports is not just a competition but also a way of life.
"With the contributions of our valued members. I wholeheartedly believe we will progress towards becoming a stronger and more successful federation. Together, we will work tirelessly to implement projects that will elevate Türkiye on the international stage. Baseball and softball in Türkiye have one of the most unusual and fascinating governance structures when it comes to the national federation with the Baseball & Softball Federation one of four sports under the umbrella name Turkish Rugby Federation.
