For weeks now, a baffling rumor has been floating around regarding Jennifer Aniston and Barack Obama. In August, the cover of InTouch was emblazoned with “The Truth About Jen & Barack!” with bullet points claiming Aniston and Obama are “obsessed with each other” and “power circles in Washington & Hollywood can’t stop gossiping!” While the tabloid denied that anything sexual had gone down between these two, the story apparently got enough attention that Aniston addressed it herself this week.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday night, Aniston chuckled when Kimmel held up the InTouch cover to segue into a bit about “wild rumors” about her. “Of all the calls you get from your publicist where you’re just like, Oh no, what’s it gonna be,” she said, laughing, “and then it’s that … I was not mad.” For the record, she said the affair rumor is “absolutely untrue,” clarifying that she’s only met Obama once and actually “know[s] Michelle more than him.” (Her rep made a similar statement to InTouch, denying that Aniston had any “personal friendship” with Obama and clarifying that she was “a fan.”)
Here’s hoping J.D. Vance doesn’t catch wind of any of this.
