Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has had her share of conservative endorsements, including former Vice President Dick Cheney and his daughter, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).
Liz Cheney, in fact, is scheduled to appear with Harris at a campaign rally in Wisconsin — a key Rust Belt battleground state — on Thursday.
Appearing on CNN before that event, reporter Alayna Treene stressed that GOP nominee Donald Trump is especially furious over Liz Cheney's endorsement.

Treene said, "She has always been ripe for Donald Trump's attacks. She has always been in his line of fire. And I think the fact that she has not only endorsed Kamala Harris, but that she's actually going to go to Wisconsin and appear alongside her to campaign for her, is definitely bothering Donald Trump."
The arch-conservative Liz Cheney was once a Trump supporter. But after his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, she became a scathing critic and was one of two Republicans that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) chose for the January 6 Select Committee. The other was then-Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), who has also endorsed Harris and spoke at the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
Treene noted that Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, in response to Liz Cheney's endorsement, pointed to an old tweet in which she attacked Harris as having "radical leftist views" and "a more liberal voting record than" Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).
"This is clearly how the Trump campaign is trying to frame this — that Cheney once attacked Harris' positions and…. again, I do think it's very likely Donald Trump will bring these up…. I do anticipate that you'll hear about this."
