NEW YORK (PIX11) – Open House New York Weekend, a three-day festival that offers behind-the-scenes tours and activities at more than 200 places around the five boroughs, will take place in October.
The 22nd annual Open House New York Weekend is Oct. 18-20. The festival allows people to explore a variety of places in New York City such as new buildings, historic homes, public works facilities, performance spaces, parks and more.
Architects, engineers, historians, curators, and community advocates are among the people who will lead tours at the different locations.
The United Nations Headquarters, Federal Hall, the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, the Hall of Records, WNYC Studios, the Edgar Allan Poe Cottage, the National Arts Club and the Brooklyn Navy Yard are just a few of the places participating in the festival this year.
Many of the locations will be free and open to the public, with no advance registration or tickets required to attend. However, some locations will require tickets to visit due to capacity or security reasons.
