CATSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The inaugural Catskills Comedy Festival is set to take place from Oct. 18-20 throughout the Catskill community. The festival will feature a vast array of comedic acts in five locations.
The festival aims to provide a platform for established and emerging comedic talent. The event will be headlined by comedian Bobcat Goldthwait, known for opening for Nirvana and his roles in "Scrooged" and "Police Academy" and Jason Kravits, known for acting in "The Practice" and "Law & Order."
"We are thrilled to bring world-class comedy to the Catskills, the incubator for American stand-up comedy starting in the mid-20th century," Robbie Chafitz, co-founder of the festival, said. "This festival is a celebration of both comedy and the creative energy that thrives in the Catskills. Our goal is to bring great affordable entertainment to the community while raising money for free youth comedy workshops and driving audiences to our charming Main Street."
The festival lineup includes 16 different acts, for kids and adults looking to try something new. Depending on the show, location and content of the performance, age limits or requirements may be applied.
For more information about the festival, age recommendations, prices, as well as to purchase tickets/festival passes go to tccfest.org. For updates and announcements follow the festival on Facebook at Catskills Comedy Fest.
