CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) - Authorities in Cleveland County are investigating a death inside the Cleveland County Jail.
According to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), they were called in to assist on the investigation around 6:00 a.m.
The Cleveland County Board of Commissioners confirmed the notice from Sheriff Chris Amason about an October 3 detainee death at the Cleveland County Jail saying, "Commissioners are saddened by the loss of life at the detention center and, while recognizing that inmate populations tend to be higher-risk than the average population, they find any preventable loss of life unacceptable."
Police officials say, the body has been sent to the medical examiner to determine cause of death. The incident is under investigation.
