Happy Sweet Six to Kate Hudson’s daughter Rani Rose! The Almost Famous star shared adorable pictures for her daughter’s sixth birthday, and she looks like a little princess in a sparkly pink dress.
“My beautiful, fun, courageous, caring, empathetic, silly, happy lady!” Hudson wrote on Instagram. “6 years have flown ????”
“We celebrate your joie de vivre!” she continued, referring to a French phrase that means “cheerful” or “exuberant” enjoyment of life. “Today and everyday! Libra Lady ????????Happy happy birthday ????”
Rani, who Hudson shares with fiancé Danny Fujikawa, is definitely full of joy in these adorable snaps. The first one was taken at her birthday party, where tables and chairs were set up outside under umbrellas. Rani had her face painted like a rainbow butterfly as she held a huge pink “6” balloon in front of her face, with a stuffed unicorn tucked into her arm.
She shows off her Barbie-pink sequined dress in the second photo, with the balloon on the floor. People are chatting on the porch in the background, including Rani’s grandpa Kurt Russell (and is that the back of Goldie Hawn’s head we see too?). It doesn’t matter to Rani. For her, this is just a casual backyard party, and she’s the star!
The “Talk About Love” singer also posted pictures of her and Rani hugging on the soccer field; Rani painting with a friend outside; and Rani smiling with her dad. In one video, Rani is dressed in a life jacket for a day at the lake, ad in another, she shows off her knitting skills. She beams at the camera in another photo, showing off an ice cream phone that’s bigger than her face, topped with sprinkles and marshmallows. We’ve never seen a happier birthday girl!

The Shell star gave an update about Rani in an interview with Extra TV earlier this week. “Rani is in kindergarten, and she loves American Girl doll,” she said, adding that Rani “loves to sing.” “She loves makeup, she loves fashion. She’s very, very girlie,” Hudson continued. So, she’s basically Hudson’s mini-me — and she couldn’t be cuter!
