A SENIOR Hamas leader who served as deputy to terror boss Yahya Sinwar has been wiped out in a bunker blitz assassination in Gaza, Israel claims.
Rawhi Mushtaha, the chief of Hamas’s government in Gaza, was killed in a series of airstrikes in July, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced.
The air blitz also killed two other senior Hamas officials Sameh al-Siraj and Sami Oudeh who were together hiding in a “fortified and equipped underground compound in the northern Gaza Strip”.
IDF said Mushtaha was one of the most senior members of Hamas and served as the “right-hand man” to Yahya Sinwar – the current leader of the terror group who is at the top of Israel’s hit list.
A spokesperson for the IDF added: “Mushtaha was Sinwar’s right-hand man and one of his closest associates and had a direct impact on decisions relating to Hamas’ force deployment.
“He was considered to be the most senior figure in the Hamas political bureau in the Gaza Strip and, during the war, maintained civil control of the Hamas regime while simultaneously engaging in terrorist activity against Israel.”
Mustafa was designated as a global terrorist by the US in 2015, The Telegraph reports.
IDF claims Hamas decided not to announce his death in a bid to prevent morale loss among its fighters who are increasingly being targeted and killed by the Israeli military.
The news of Mushtaha’s death comes after Israel brazenly assassinated Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in a precision strike on Iranian soil.
The hit came just hours after the fugitive attended the inauguration of Iran’s new president with crowds chanting “death to Israel”.
One of the founding members of the terror group, Haniyeh unflinchingly represented the bloodthirsty cult for decades, even past the death of his own children.
Meanwhile, dramatic footage caught the moment Israel wiped out Hamas terror maniac Mohammed Deif in a precision airstrike in Gaza.
One-eyed Mohammed Deif, dubbed “The Guest”, was one of the terrorist architects behind the October 7 attacks that killed 1,200 people in Israel last year.
Deif, along with Hamas leader in Gaza Yahya Sinwar and political chief Ismail Haniyeh, was one of three top targets for the Israeli forces.
A total of 251 hostages were abducted to Gaza on October 7 after Hamas launched a bloody assault on Israel which killed around 1,200 people, most of whom were civilians.
The attack sparked a widespread military operation by the Israeli military in Gaza which has since killed over 40,000, its health ministry claims.
