TOPEKA (KSNT) - The third annual Halloween Costume Collection has wrapped up for 2024.
Over the month of September, SENT has collected new and gently used costumes around the community for its giveaway this month.
The event started as a way to help "upcycle" some old costumes sitting in the back of closest to help families enjoy the holiday.
"We thought why not collect new or gently used costumes and then upcycle them to new families to enjoy the holidays without taxing the budget," Tricia Sublet, the mental health director at SENT, said. "Or having to choose which bill we can't pay this month so we can enjoy the holidays."
The giveaway on Oct. 12 will also include a mental wellness fair. The fair will take place at the SENT building in southeast Topeka from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
