McCarthy Commits to UMass Lowell NCAA Div. I

Trail, British Columbia (September 17, 2024) – The Trail Smoke Eaters are proud to announce defenceman Owen McCarthy (’08) has committed to the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

McCarthy, from Trail, BC is entering his first season with the Smoke Eaters. Owen played in one pre-season game last season for the Smoke Eaters and has played the past two seasons at the RINK Academy in Kelowna.

This includes my parents who have sacrificed so much for me; as well as my coaches, teammates, trainers and advisor, who have all helped me grow both on and off the ice. I am excited for the next chapter and can’t wait to contribute to the UMass Lowell hockey program.”
