The land group of Dun Laoghaire Tidy Towns volunteers will meet at 10:30 outside the church at the top of Marine Road. They will divide into two groups and proceed down Marine Road. One group will turn right towards the East Pier and the other group will turn left towards the West Pier.
Shoreside, I want to thank the DMYC, INSS, Dun Laoghaire Powerboat School, BigStyle and Moontour who have all volunteered to provide boats, RIBs, paddle boards and kayaks and to lift any litter or debris out of the water along the shoreline.
Whilst we have a good response from the west side of the harbour, we could do with the same from the east side! Please get in touch with me (dltidytowns@gmail.com) if you can provide any assistance on the water from the East Pier towards the Marina.
I will be in touch with all volunteers over the next few days and will arrange to bring hi-viz vests, rubbish bags and litter pickers to each group and to discuss the areas to be covered. We will also have our own coordinator in a RIB on the water to assist.
Between the group on the land and the group on the sea, I think it will be a spectacular event and a real demonstration of how we in Dun Laoghaire are committed to protecting our shoreline.
Looking forward to meeting you all,
Kind regards
Catherine Harris
