Hands up, 18 months to 2 years ago who would have dodged last night game. Had a season ticket since 89, but over the last 10 years, I’ve definitely un-prioritised going to the Blues if something else is happening.
That’s changed, I’ve never felt the stadium feel like this hours before the game, not even Play-offs, semi finals. It was always arrive as late as you can, watch the game and get back to the pub as soon as possible.
What the club is doing is making you feel that you need to be there, otherwise you’ll miss out, the food, bit of music and the fact that it’s clean has made the difference. Even the cups for your beers and soft drinks are better. Small things but stuff you’ll notice.
Seeing more people, a different range of people, more kids and families is nice too, as it drains out the chavs and morons that every club has which is a welcome bonus.
Obviously the most important stuff is on the pitch, but the overall experience has improved 10 fold and I’m sure there is more to come.
Right or wrong, being a Blues fan has in some ways defined who I am as a person, it’s been my one constant since I was 8 years old and I am truly thankful we’ve got owners that have vision for our club and city that will be beneficial for everyone concerned.
We are well and truly on the rise, let’s keep it going. KRO
