India men’s hockey team will look to defend their Asian Champion Trophy (ACT) hockey title when they take on hosts China in the final in Moqi, China, on Tuesday (September 17). Harmanpreet Singh’s side are the only unbeaten team in the tournament so far, having won all of their matches comfortably.
The Paris Olympics 2024 bronze medallist booked their berth in the final with a convincing 4-1 win over South Korea on Monday. Their arch-rivals Pakistan though lost to China via shootout 2-0 after the game had ended at 1-1 in regulation time.
Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh, who completed his 200 international goals in this tournament, continued is golden form – scoring twice in the semifinal match too.
