Boxer Jake Paul faced off with legend of the ring Mike Tyson at midfield at AT&T Stadium before the Dallas Cowboys hosted the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Paul and Tyson are set to go toe-to-toe in a sanctioned boxing match on Nov. 15.
Tyson sported a No. 11 Cowboys jersey with his last name across the back, but Paul had a white non-NFL team jersey with the logo of his hygiene products instead of the host team's signature star logo. NESN's Ountae Campbell thought it was disrespectful of the boxer/influencer not to sport a Dallas shirt.
"My whole thing with this is, where is Jake's respect?" Campbell asked during the latest episode of NESN's "Boston Has Entered The Chat" podcast. "You see Tyson, he's actually wearing a real Cowboys jersey. Jake is wearing a freaking Jake on the back with like a star pattern on the front. Like, what is that bro? Actually respect the team and the arena that you're going to be fighting in. You're lucky that Jerry (Jones) is letting you fight here."
George Balekji pointed out that Paul is from Cleveland, but Campbell doubled down on the fact it was disrespectful.
"I don't care where you're from," he said. "I could care less if you're a Browns fan from Cleveland. You're getting the opportunity to fight in Dallas on a huge stage in front of all these fans. You're going to respect the Cowboys, even though it's fun to disrespect the Cowboys. You need to respect the Cowboys by wearing a jersey."
Campbell and Balekji hope Tyson wins the fight, but neither is very optimistic that the 58-year-old heavyweight can defeat Paul.
