The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has reported that in the past week, 625 Afghan refugees have returned to their country from Pakistan.
In a report on Sunday, September 15, the organisation stated that some of these refugees were forcibly deported from Pakistan and entered Afghanistan under compulsion.
This comes as the process of deporting and detaining Afghan migrants continues in both Iran and Pakistan despite international reactions.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation stated that 100 Afghan refugee families returned from Iran and Pakistan, both voluntarily and involuntarily.
Additionally, the Afghan Consulate in Karachi announced the release of 44 Afghan citizens from Pakistani prisons and called on the country to refrain from arresting Afghan migrants.
According to UN statistics, since the start of the deportation process from Pakistan, 42,120 Afghan migrants have returned to Afghanistan.
The forced deportation of Afghan refugees from neighboring countries like Pakistan continues despite international concerns. This situation underscores the urgent need for global intervention and humanitarian support to protect the rights and safety of vulnerable populations.
