A 35-year-old man was arrested in Limassol for attacking a police office and injuring another man in a parking lot on Sunday.
Police said another man, aged 37 reported that at around 1:30am he heard the sound of a motorbike and went down to the apartment parking spot where he saw the 35-year-old holding a torch and inspecting a parked vehicle.
He claimed the 35-year-old pulled out a knife and attacked him, injuring his back, biting his hand and then kicking a vehicle, which was owned by the 37-year-old’s wife.
The younger man was taken to a police station but caused a ruckus and eventually injured a police officer.
Both men involved in the fight along with the police officer were taken to Limassol general hospital.
The 35-year-old had bruises on his face and redness in his eye, while the 37-year-old had fracture wounds on his chest and spine.
The police officer had a crush injury to his left palm.
Police said the 35-year-old is now facing charges including assaulting a police officer, causing actual bodily harm, stabbing, causing injury, causing malicious damage and resisting lawful arrest.
