COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Ohio State's new ranking in the coaches poll budged while they sat on the sidelines for Week 3.
Ohio State (2-0) dropped to the No. 3 spot in the new USA Today coaches poll for Week 4, matching its Week 3 ranking in the Associated Press poll. The new AP rankings will be released at 2 p.m. The Buckeyes are now behind No. 1 Georgia and No. 2 Texas in the coaches poll.
Those teams suffered setbacks on Saturday with No. 1 Georgia limping to a 13-12 win over Kentucky in Lexington. Despite being the least impressive win for a top-ten team in Week 3, the Bulldogs kept its No. 1 ranking. They enter a bye week before an anticipated game on Sept. 28 at the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide.
Further south, No. 2 Texas ran away with a 56-7 victory over the University of Texas at San Antonio but its star quarterback Quinn Ewers left with an injury in the first quarter. The Longhorns' backup though impressed as Arch Manning, the son of Peyton and Eli's older brother Cooper, had five touchdowns against the Roadrunners.
The top-ten had little changed with Tennessee now sitting at No. 7 in the coaches rankings. Most of the shuffling came at the back with the likes of No. 23 Memphis and No. 25 UNLV joining the ranking while No. 24 Texas A&M made a return after beating Florida.
