MANILA, Philippines – Two low pressure areas formed on Sunday, September 15, with one LPA inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and the other LPA outside PAR.
As of 8 am on Sunday, the LPA inside PAR was located 440 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora, while the one outside was 2,145 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA inside PAR currently has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, but the one outside has a moderate chance.
In an advisory at 11 am on Sunday, PAGASA provided the following rainfall outlook for the LPA inside PAR:
Monday noon, September 16, to Tuesday noon, September 17
Tuesday noon, September 17, to Wednesday noon, September 18
Aside from the two LPAs, PAGASA continues to monitor the effects of the southwest monsoon or habagat, which continues to dump moderate to intense rain.
