The Vees enter the final weekend of the preseason, as they hit the road to take on the West Kelowna Warriors. Penticton picked up a win last Saturday, beating the Vernon Vipers 2-1. The vees split the weekend, as they lost Friday, 7-4 in Trail.
In Saturday’s win over the Vipers, Max Heise broke a 1-1 tie, as he scored the game-winner with 49 seconds left in regulation. His pass from behind the net bounced off two Vernon players before trickling in. Goaltender Sharky Nowek went the distance in net, as he stopped 14 of 15 shots, for the win. On his 18th birthday no less.
Tonight, the Vees have made a few tweaks to their lineup, as Ben Merrill and Jack Potulny slot in upfront. Ryden Evers and Caton Ryan will not dress. Ryan suffered an upper-body injury Saturday and is listed week-to-week. The Vees win dress the same seven defencemen as they did against Vernon. Andrew Ness gets the start in goal. he will be backed up by Will Ingemann.

The Warriors play their first home preseason game after two road games last weekend against Vernon and Cranbrook. West Kelowna beat the Vipers 4-0 on Friday, but lost 7-3 in Cranbrook last Saturday.
West Kelowna has returned three of their top six forwards from last season, including Jack Pridham, who was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in June. Pridham, who had 48 points in 54 games last season, is poised to have a big sophomore season. Jackson Kyrkostas and Callum Hughes are also back from a year ago. That trio should provide a lot of offence for the Warriors this season.
The Warriors also have four returning defencemen in Simon Hogue, Landon Hilditch, Kaiden Schaupmeyer, and Jack Farrell. New faces in goal are Dawson Labre and Zack Ferris.
