Over 900 candidates are likely to be in the fray for the threephase J&K election, according to data so far. While vetting of 483 nominations for Phase 3 is underway, the total number of candidates is set to go higher than the 831 who contested Assembly polls in undivided J&K in 2014. Not only is the number of candidates on the uptick, there is also a clear increase in ground level footfall, number of public campaigns by political parties and the general electoral feel.
