A MAN has been left heartbroken after finding out that his wife cheated, but it’s not her infidelity causing him angst.
He revealed the pair had been married for 13 years with three children when she confessed she’d had an affair.
His wife, who often travels for work, had been acting odd over the last few months causing him to be suspicious.
He said: “She would never take video calls and rarely answers voice calls especially at night.
“Every time when she’s back, she’s cold and distant, and very protective of her phone.
“The way I tried to deal with my suspicions, is to treat her with the exact opposite, always been supportive to her and her career, showing her how much I missed her and how much the kids miss her, meeting her with flowers and sometimes gifts when she’s back.”
But his sweet gestures ultimately led her to feel guilty and be honest and admit her cheating ways.
He continued: “She opened the conversation by “why are you so good to me? I am trying to push you away and you’re doing this to me” before breaking down in tears.”
It turns out she had been having an affair on her work trips with a much younger colleague.
But he was left disgusted by his own reaction to the confession, instead of getting angry or upset he simply replied ‘if this is what you want, then more power to you.’
Instead of letting his emotions take over he walked away to finish watching the football match on TV.
But it left him feeling submissive and like he couldn’t fight back.
“Since I met her, I always felt she’s settling with me. Have I just let her manipulate me into submission?” he wondered.
“A couple of days of awkwardness passed without much talking as I decided to stay late in the office.”
But things have only got worse since then – when he did finally come home she offered him sex and most people would have refused after knowing their partner was having an affair.
But the man decided to comply adding: “I was just numb and let it happen. She was more wild and passionate than ever. I guess she thought that would make it up.”

In close relationships, it’s normal to know each other’s passwords and use each other’s phones, if their phone habits change then they may be hiding something.
Aaron says: “If your partner starts changing their passwords, starts taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful.”
“You should also look at how they place their phone down when not in use. If they face the phone with the screen facing down, then they could be hiding something.”
They start telling you less about their day
When partners cheat they can start to avoid you, this could be down to them feeling guilty or because it makes it easier for them to lie to you.
“If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don’t want to do things with you any more or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag.”
“Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible and it’s an easy way to get caught out,” says Aaron.
Their libido changes
Your partner’s libido can change for a range of reasons so it may not be a sure sign of cheating but it can be a red flag according to Aaron.
Aaron says: “Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty and use this increase in sex to hide their cheating. You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren’t there before.”
They become negative towards you
Cheaters know that cheating is wrong and to them, it will feel good, this can cause tension and anxiety within themselves which they will need to justify.
“To get rid of the tension they feel inside they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere. Maybe you haven’t walked the dog that day, put the dishes away or read a book to your children before bedtime. A small problem like this can now feel like a big deal and if you experience this your partner could be cheating,” warns Aaron.
Since then she’s asked how the pair will move forward but he took to Reddit to ask for advice as he had no idea what to say.
The post went viral on the Reddit forum Truth Off My Chest and people were quick to share their thoughts.
One person wrote: “Your reaction is honest, it’s not wrong at all. It sounds like you are in shock still which is understandable. Do you know where you want to go from here? If you don’t, just hear her out then unless you have a reaction to whatever she says tell her you have nothing to say at this time, you are in shock.”
