BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two people are facing charges following a search warrant that came as a result of a threat against a kindergarten class, according to Buffalo police.
Around 7 p.m. on September 11, FBI Buffalo received a complaint about a Discord post that made reference to shooting a kindergarten class, Buffalo Police said during a presser Thursday.
Police said the post was made on August 27 and did not mention any specific school or class. They believe the threat to be isolated.
Police conducted a search at a home on the 900 block of Sycamore Street and found a loaded gun with five rounds of ammunition in it, along with other ammunition. The gun matched the gun in the social media post and the bedding in the post matched the bedding of a 15-year-old in the home, according to police.
The 15-year-old was charged with making a threat of mass harm and was arraigned. Buffalo police confirmed that he is a Buffalo school student but could not say which school due to his juvenile status.
Buffalo police also confirmed that the gun was owned by the 15-year-old's brother, 18-year-old Saeed Saeed.
In addition, police said that 14 pounds of marijuana were seized from a separate bedroom, leading to Saeed being charged with one count of criminal possession of cannabis and one count of failure to safely store firearms.
Saeed was arraigned, released and is scheduled to return to court September 30.
Police said anyone who wishes to report suspicious activity or comments should call or text the confidential tip line at (716) 847-2255.
