BURLINGTON (KSNT) - A Burlington student has been detained after threatening comments, that were not credible, was made against Burlington Middle School.
According to a social media post from the Burlington Kansas Police Department, the agency, along with USD 244 and the Recreation center were made aware of an incident where a student made "threatening comments focused on the Burlington Middle School" after school.
Police conducted an investigation and determined there was no credible threat to the school or any individual student. Burlington Police consulted the Coffey County attorney, and came to the conclusion to detain the student and put that individual into the juvenile justice system.
With the cooperation of the parents involved, the student will not be in school Friday. Sept. 13, according to the social media post.
