A PROFESSIONAL dog trainer has listed the five popular breeds he’d never consider getting – so, how is your pooch raking?
Welcoming a four-legged friend into your household is a big decision for any person to make, especially if you have children.
But if you’re adamant you can offer the ideal environment and lifestyle to a dog, you may just want to listen up.
That’s because one expert in the field, only known as Luke, has taken to TikTok to spill the beans about some much-loved breeds he’d never own due to professional experiences at work.
The first breed that had made it onto the short list was the adorable French Bulldog, also commonly referred to as ”Frenchies”.
Sharing his verdict on the cute pooch, the whizz said: ”I know so many Frenchies who have really nice temperaments and they’re really nice characters.
”But personally, I would struggle with the many health issues that can occur.”
Although there are plenty of French Bulldogs that are perfectly fit and healthy, the whizz warned that ”these guys are literally allergic to planet earth”.
Another breed that had landed in the video was the ”intelligent” Belgian Malinois – however, the canine expert revealed they require a lot of work.
As a dog owner, the UK-based guru said that ”if you’re not into the agility training or bite work, then this breed is not for you”.
This was previously backed up by another pro in the pet industry who warned that ”even though they are easy to train if you don’t know how to direct that into something constructive, they can almost take over”.
The expert explained that Belgian Malinois is a working breed and instinctually will want to chase and bite at things.
“So when you have a puppy and they’re going to the biting phase it would be a lot worse with this breed.”
Although this breed is ”great for first-time owners” and is ”amazing with kids”, the appetite of a Labrador doesn’t seem to have an end, he claimed.
”They are just so food-driven. I would worry so much,” the canine whizz said, adding that Beagles ”are slightly more intelligent” when it comes to munching on snacks.
”Labradors just think with their stomach – it would just stress me out.”
Owning and keeping a dog happy and healthy is not only a long-term financial, but a lifetime commitment.

But unless you’re willing to put in time and effort to train them, this breed is not the right pick for you, Luke explained.
Although the guru wanted to end the list with the popular sausage dog, he quickly changed his mind and added pugs instead.
”Again, similar reason as with the Frenchies – and I just can’t deal with the noise.”
What’s more, Luke warned, this adorable pooch can also become ”lazy” in a matter of time and doesn’t ”have much personality”.
