Maharashtra Viral Video: In a shocking incident, a man was brutally assaulted inside a car with an iron road on a busy road in Neral, Maharashtra while his wife and children screamed for help and begged for the attacker to stop. The entire episode was captured on camera and the video has gone viral on social media platforms.

In the viral clip, the attacker, identified as Shivaji Sonavale, an alleged “bodyguard” of Karjat MLA Mahendra Thorve of the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), is seen violently attacking a driver inside a car while the victim’s wife and children are heard screaming for help.

Sena (UBT) attacks Shinde faction

The viral clip was also shared by Uddhav Thackeray group on its official ‘X’ handle, claiming that the attacker ‘Shiva’ was the “bodyguard” of MLA Mahendra Thorve, who is affiliated with the Eknath Shinde faction. Targeting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the opposition Shiv Sena faction said the law and order situation has deteriorated in Maharashtra.

‘Hooliganism in Maharashtra! MLA Mahendra Thorve’s bodyguard ‘Shiva’ beat up a person on the road in broad daylight in Nerul. The man’s wife and children were crying, but no one dared to come to help,” Shiv Sena (UBT) wrote on X while sharing the viral video of the attack.

Reacting to the incident, MLA Thorve claimed that the video was an attempt by rivals to malign him. Thorve claimed the attacker and the victim were party workers and the Udhhav faction was using incident to tarnish his reputation.

Accused arrested

Meanwhile, police said they have arrested the 35-year-old accused who attacked a man with an iron road when the victim was sitting in a car along with his wife and children in Raigad district of Maharashtra.

According to the police, the accused and the victim are known to each other, and a scuffle broke out between them over the issue of breaking the window of the vehicle.

The incident took place at Neral on Saturday when the accused, Shivaji Sonavale, a resident of Karjat taluka, attacked the man sitting in the car, an official said Thursday, adding that the accused has been arrested and a case registered against him.
