Tyreek Hill knows he was not a saint last Sunday morning outside Hard Rock Stadium.
However, the star Dolphins wide receiver still maintains that the treatment he received from Miami police was not warranted.
Hill was detained by law enforcement on his commute to the Dolphins' Week 1 home matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The eight-time Pro Bowl selection initially was pulled over for speeding, but he ended up being forcibly removed from his vehicle after he was hesitant to roll down his window.
The 30-year-old lamented his reluctance to comply Wednesday when he met with the media. But he also condemned the police officers for their aggressive actions.
"I will say I could have been better," Hill told reporters, per ESPN. "I could have let down my window in that instant. But the thing about me is, man, I don't want attention. I don't want (there) to be cameras out, phones on you in that moment -- but at the end of the day, I'm human. I've got to follow rules. I got to do what everyone else would do.
"Now does that give them the right to literally beat the dog out of me? Absolutely not. But at the end of the day, I wish I could go back and do things a bit differently."
Hill was not arrested for his actions and stuffed the stat sheet in the Dolphins' season-opening win. He'll be looking for a smoother drive to work Thursday night when Miami hosts the rival Buffalo Bills.
