A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection to the ruckus at a home for the elderly, which also houses unaccompanied minors.
Speaking on CyBC, police spokeswoman Eleni Constantinou said the teen would be taken before the Larnaca district court on Thursday to file a case against him.
She added that police were patrolling the area on a regular basis.
Regarding reports that a minor had sexually assaulted a female carer, Constantinou said the case has been reported and is being investigated.
Social Welfare Services director Maria Kyratzi, also speaking on CyBC, said the 20 minors had been placed in the home for the elderly temporarily and were under the supervision of separate staff.
Kyratzi said four minors have already been moved and that the rest would be taken to smaller shelters within communities over the next few days, depending on their individual needs.
