TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka Police Department (TPD) has arrested a man in connection to a homicide in Central Topeka on Sept. 6.
According to TPD, 23-year-old Caleb Horton, of Topeka, was taken to the Shawnee
County Department of Corrections for the following charges:
TPD officers responded to a report just before 9 a.m. on Sept. 6 near Southwest 13th and Western Ave. of a person down. When they arrived, they found Michael Sanchez, 47, on the ground with gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased on scene.
The incident is the city’s 14th homicide investigation of 2024. The investigation is ongoing.
