Dave Grohl retained a divorce attorney before his shocking announcement, People reports.
The 55-year-old Foo Fighters rocker surprised fans when he posted a statement on Tuesday (September 10) confirming that he welcomed a child outside his marriage of 21 years to Jordyn Blum.
The couple first met in 2001 and has been married since 2003, and they share three daughters: Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” he wrote in the statement. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Their daughter Violet seemingly deactivated her Instagram account upon the news going public.
The couple were most recently spotted together in London this summer, attending Wimbledon in July.
