CHILLING footage shows the moment a surfer finds the dead body of a swimmer off the coast of a Greek island.
The video shows the man kite surfing as he makes the grim discovery just a few feet from the beach of Lambi in Kos where shocked tourists watched on.
The Greek Coast Guard was called and shortly arrived at the scene alongside an ambulance.
The body has not been identified yet while there has not been anyone reported missing from the island.
The Coast estimates the man has been in the water for over a week.
The surfer who found the body, Dionysis Baltsis spoke to Greek broadcaster Mega about the horrific moment he saw the body floating.
He was kitesurfing in Lambi with his friend on Sunday afternoon when he saw the body in the water.
He said: “He was white and bald and wearing clothes that we surfers wear, that is, a lycra T-shirt and quick-drying pants, he did not appear to be an immigrant.
“He was definitely a man who knew the sea, and did some kind of water sports.
“The authorities had already been informed because the body was very close to the shore, around 100 meters.”
Baltsis said he also pointed out to an army post in the area that there’s a body in the sea.
He added: “The body was slowly coming out because the water was shallow and clear.
“In other words, it came from quite high up, from Samos, the coast of Turkey, above Imia.
“It was shocking, it’s not every day you see a dead body in the sea.
“We came in to do our hobby, have fun and have a good time.”
