BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Sabres' regular season might not begin for almost another month, but some of their prospects will hit the ice this weekend.
Buffalo's annual prospect challenge begins on Friday at Harborcenter. The Sabres and five other teams will show off their prospects over the course of three days. Here's what you need to know.
Buffalo's roster for the event features five first-round picks, three players who made appearances for the Sabres in 2023-24, and 12 who made appearances for the Rochester Americans. You can see the full roster below:

The five other teams participating are the Boston Bruins, Pittsburgh Penguins, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators and Columbus Blue Jackets.
There will be nine games total, with three games on each day.

The Sabres also will hold a Fan Fest on Saturday.
