Dave Grohl Reveals He Welcomed a Baby Outside His Marriage & Hopes to 'Regain’ His Family’s Trust
Dave Grohl just dropped a bombshell that left fans reeling. In a statement on Instagram, the Foo Fighters rockstar announced that he welcomed a baby girl with someone who isn’t his wife of more than two decades, Jordyn Blum.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter,” he started, in a notably passive voice, “born outside of my marriage.”
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” he continued. “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
Grohl and Blum — who tied the not in 2003 — share three daughters, Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10. Before signing off, the musician said he is “grateful” for the public’s “consideration” toward all four of his kids as they “move forward together.”
Comments were disabled on the post, but fans had a lot to say about the infidelity on X (formerly Twitter). Among the angry and disappointed memes, fans joked that he should have started the post with one of his lyrics, “I’ve got another confession to make.” They also noted how casual he seemed about a topic that must be so hard for his wife, older daughters, and other loved ones.

Neither Grohl’s representatives nor his immediate family have spoken more on the subject, though there are mixed reports that his older daughters deactivated their social media accounts after their father’s post.
In 2009, the former Nirvana drummer told TIME, “I used to tour nine months out of the year. Now I don’t like being away from my kids for more than 12 days.”
The “nicest guy in rock” continued, “It’s changed everything that I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate.”
Grohl was previously married to Jennifer Leigh Youngblood and acknowledged that infidelity helped lead to their divorce, per The Associated Press.
