Summary Palworld has a level system for both the player character and the individual Pals captured. Both the player and Pals have the same max level. There is, however, no finite endgame in Palworld, allowing players to continue upgrading their base and capturing more Pals even after reaching the level cap. Making progress in Palworld can be engaging, but it's not possible to advance characters or Pals forever, as a level cap will eventually be reached after enough play. Since Palworld takes obvious inspiration from both Pokémon and survival crafting games like Ark: Survival Ascended and Valheim, the inclusion of a finite leveling system isn't especially surprising. There's a big difference between a level cap of 25 and 250, however, so it can be useful to know which end of the spectrum Palworld ultimately falls closer to, in order to have a good understanding of progression.
