For all the Method dressing in the world, there’s nothing quite like a movie star walking the red carpet with their kid. Over the weekend, the TIFF step-and-repeat met a new celebrity offspring: Amy Adams’s 14-year-old daughter, Aviana Olea Le Gallo, who made her red-carpet debut at the premiere of Nightbitch over the weekend.
Aviana, who wore a strapless black dress and carried a sparkly purse to the event, is Adams’s daughter with actor and painter Darren Le Gallo, who also attended. Is it a coincidence that the first movie premiere Adams brought her daughter to is one in which she plays a woman whose complicated feelings about motherhood cause her to turn into a dog? Maybe, maybe not. Of seeing Nightbitch with Aviana, she said, “Parts of it I’m excited to share with her. Being that it’s her mom, I’m gonna be a little bit more protective of certain aspects of the filmmaking.” She added, “What I want her to know about my experience of motherhood is how much she’s enriched my life and made me the woman that I am today.”
Aviana and Le Gallo also joined Adams for an awards dinner Sunday night where she thanked both of them in an acceptance speech. “This is the first time that she’s gotten to be at an event like this with me,” she said of her daughter, “and so I get to tell her in front of you all how much I’m grateful for making me not only a better mother, but a better person.” Sounds like she’s had a lot of time to reflect on motherhood lately.
