CORONATION Street star Sair Khan is heading back to work following the birth of her first child.
The star – who plays Alya Nazir in the ITV soap since 2014 – welcomed her baby boy in April.
The soap star revealed her pregnancy in December last year.
Sair shares her baby with partner Nathan Chilton.
The actress worked for most of her pregnancy and left filming on the soap just weeks before her due date.
Viewers saw her character almost embark on a romance with her boss Adam Barlow before deciding to choose a work opportunity in Dublin.
But today Sair shared on Instagram how she was back on set.
She let her fans know she was filming Coronation Street again by sharing a shot of a the soap’s script with the caption, “I’m Backstreet”.
Meanwhile, Sair welcomed her baby in April with a cute post of her partner Nathan cradling the tot.
She captioned the sweet snap with: “He’s here!
“Okay, when I said ‘Spring awakening’ in my last post I didn’t mean ‘keep’ me awake. The new parent zombie look is definitely a thing isn’t it.
“More importantly our little boy is just marvellous. Very serious and curious about the world.
“He’s super strong and so resilient for joining me on the absolute rollercoaster that was our 22 hours of labour.
“We didn’t quite get the birth i’d hoped for but that’s okay (two birth pools, no water birth).”
Sair called the labour “raw and primal” and has found the baby’s first days a steep learning curve.
She continued: “Somehow we’re off the starting blocks and I’m so unbelievably grateful for our healthy baby, for Nathan and the for the incredible support network around us for their patience, generosity and late night voice notes that have kept me going.
“Anyone else ever felt like there’s a DJ beat coming from your breast pump at 3am or is that what delirium is?!”
Sair found love again in 2021 two years after her heartbreaking split, when she started dating chiropractor Nathan.
She broke up with fellow soap star Simon Lennon in 2019 months after she appeared in I’m A Celebrity.
A source said at the time: “They’ve been dating since late last year after meeting through a mutual friend.
“Things have been going really well and it’s no secret that they’re head over heels for each other. Everyone’s hoping she’s found The One.”
Sair had appeared in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2018 and had starred on Channel 4’s Sink Or Swim.
The actress has had a number of hardhitting storylines over the years – including being shot and was the victim of a far-right extremists plot.
