We've seen drier air across the area as a northeasterly wind has been persistent behind a weak front which moved through a few days ago. We'll see another day of mostly sunny skies with highs climbing into the mid-90s. Heat index values have been held down by this dry air and will reach the 100-105 degree range this afternoon.
South winds look to return tomorrow, which will increase moisture levels across this area. This will increase heat indices and also increase moisture levels. This may lead to a few isolated storms tomorrow afternoon with coverage of 20-30%. Highs will still reach the upper 90s.
This same weather pattern looks to continue through the week ahead with highs in the 97-100 degree range each afternoon and rain coverage of 20-30% each day. This is due to high pressure remaining the dominant factor controlling our weather.
TROPICS
A tropical wave is steadily getting better organized as it moves westward across the central Atlantic. It currently has a 'high' chance of tropical development in the next seven days as it moves towards the northeastern Caribbean sea. Beyond that, models are showing this system moving more northerly, hopefully recurving east of the United States.
