A LITTLE-known car brand is readying a road-legal supercar with a beefy V8 engine capable of producing 600bhp.
Its eye-popping power is backed up by aggressive styling with lots of exterior aero, but curiously enough it also boasts more boot space than Britain’s best-selling family motor.

Priced from £275,000, just 20 examples of the Akula will be produced with each model “painstakingly handcrafted” using cutting-edge technology.
Ginetta claim the Akula will combine “continent-crossing touring abilities” with “laser-focused handling and exceptional performance” – meaning it’s built to be fast, comfortable and capable of carrying more than just an overnight bag.
Its top speed comes in at 180mph and it will be able to hit 62mph from a standstill in just 2.9 seconds, making it as fast as a Maserati MC20.
However, the stunning motor has also been designed with practicality in mind.
Not only does it feature a 100-litre fuel tank that gives it a 450-mile driving range, there’s also a 473-litre boot that offers sufficient luggage space for two.
Indeed, that’s a larger boot than Britain’s best-selling car – the family-friendly Ford Puma.
The Akula’s primary aim is to be a proper, long-distance tourer – perfect for a road trip – with specially designed seats coming with padding that’s “bespoke-moulded” to perfectly match each driver’s shape.
There’s even a Ginetta-developed touchscreen infotainment system that supports iOS integration, as well as extras you wouldn’t expect from a supercar – including a heated front windscreen, cup holders and wireless phone charging.
The Ginetta Akula is available for order now.
This comes as a best-selling car brand recently announced the upcoming release of 21 new models in the next six years – including a long-rumoured sports car with a bizarre retro look.
Elsewhere, a car expert has revealed three fun-to-drove motors that cost under £5,000.
