OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A metro family is now seeking help and wanting answers after they say a kid in their neighborhood crashed a go kart into their garage door.
Scott Vincent and his wife were out of town for a funeral over the Labor Day weekend.
While there, they received a notification from their home security cameras.
Vincent says the kid in the video crashed his go kart into his left garage door and broke it.
"We were very shocked, very confused. Well, angry especially because he didn't come forward to take responsibility," says Vincent.
The accident is going to cost Vincent nearly $2,000 dollars to get his garage door replaced.
Vincent says "They're [garage doors] about two years old, brand new, both of them."
He says he's given the kid's parents time to come forward.
"We've seen the young man walking home from school, we've seen him looking at our garage door when he was doing it," says Vincent.
Also adding, "He did hit another neighbor that we know of. A neighbor across the street just ran into the back of his car."
Vincent filed a police report with the Oklahoma City Police Department but says he hasn't had much luck.
He says he even took to Facebook to share the video, in hopes someone would take responsibility for the damage.
"We realize watching the video that the young man, it was an accident. He didn't intentionally drive up our driveway and go through our garage door. We really just want him and his parents to come forward and and acknowledge the responsibility," says Vincent.
