Katie Holmes Shows Her Dedication to Ballet Flats With Silver Pair From Franco Sarto

Katie Holmes remains dedicated to the ballet flat. The actress stepped out in New York City in early September wearing a silver pair from Franco Sarto, matching them with a casual-chic late summer ensemble.

Holmes was dressed for the slightly cooler weather that late summer brings in a pair of blue skinny jeans and a sheer long sleeve green top. In a gentle lime green hue, her shirt was made of a thin mesh material embellished with a pattern reminiscent of leaves; she layered it on top of a dark bralette. The collar, bottom and hem of the shirt featured a scalloped edge, which contributed to the refined elegance of the piece.

Holmes kept things easy but fun with her footwear, sliding on a silver pair of Franco Sarto’s Tinsley Mary Jane Flats. With a metallic shine, the shoes feature a 0.75 inch sculpted heel and a square toe, deviating from the typical rounded toe of a flat. The defining feature of a Mary Jane is the thin buckled strap across the midsection of the foot.

These particular shoes are made of faux leather, with the upper partially crafted from recycled materials. The Tinsley Mary Jane Flat retails for $115 from Franco Sarto and can be found in a range of colors in addition to a leopard print fabric option.

This is far from the first time that Holmes has gone out in New York wearing ballet flats. She has multiple pairs in her closet, including an edgy Miu Miu pair which she styled with a black outfit and a long denim jacket in March; she broke the same shoes out again in August to complement a maroon jumpsuit. She’s also worn another pair of metallic ballet flats in the past, elevating a chic winter outfit with them in January.
