ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- An Albany was sentenced to two consecutive terms of 15 years for weapon possession charges on Wednesday. The Albany County District Attorney's Office said James Ford, 52, was convicted of two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
According to the indictment for Ford, around Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023, Ford had an illegal pistol and an assault weapon in his possession when police stopped him on South Pearl Street. During a jury trial, Ford was convicted on the two charges on Friday, June 28.
Ford was also sentenced to five years of probation following his prison sentence. Albany County Assistant District Attorney William Andrew and Joseph Brucato prosecuted the case.
