AN aesthetic professional has shared a common mistake that many are regularly making and could be doing more harm than good.
She has seen many skincare clients with rough textures and offered advice to combat it.
Farmhouse Fresh esthetician Kylee Kintis has seen a lot of rough texture on her clients and shared skincare tips with The U.S. Sun[/caption]Kylee Kintis is a licensed medical esthetician at Farmhouse Fresh with certifications in chemical peels, dermaplaning, lasers, and non-invasive body treatments.
Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she revealed how she combats skincare issues, beauty mistakes many are making, and anti-aging tips.
As an esthetician, Kintis sees “lots of skincare issues in the treatment room.”
“I’ve seen a lot of rough texture recently which typically is due to a lack of exfoliation,” she said.
Exfoliation is the “key part” of any regimen to prevent build-up, breakouts, and dull skin.
“Exfoliation also ensures our other skin care products are absorbing into the skin properly,” she said.
She recommended exfoliating two to three times a week, but said it depends on “the strength of your exfoliator.”
“Who doesn’t love things that we can do to improve our skin, especially when they are free!” Kintis raved.
One of her favorite free skincare methods is rest, which “is so important for the skin as our skin repairs and rejuvenates overnight.”
“Adequate sleep can also help combat those dark circles and puffiness that we can see in the morning,” she added.
Another tip she gives all her clients is hydration because ” lack of hydration can bring dullness and increase the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”
Adequate water intake can help give your skin that “dewy, glowy look” and look “plumped up.”
Kintis said a common misconception is that you do not have to use sunscreen if you are not going outdoors or if it’s cloudy outside.
UV rays pass through windows and through clouds, which “can lead to aging of the skin, and pigmentation, and carry a risk of skin cancer,” so wear SPF every day.
Farmhouse Fresh esthetician Kylee Kintis revealed tell-tale signs of rosacea and how to take care of it.
Rosacea can often flare up through many different factors.
Kintis recommended looking at your skincare products and environmental factors to see what may be causing flare-ups and help reduce inflammation.
“Calming and soothing products help reduce the look of redness and keep the skin barrier happy,” she advised.
FarmHouse Fresh has a collection of products with matcha, like the Matcha Purity Calm & Clear Purification Mask, $36.
“These are my favorite to instantly soothe skin and reduce redness within days,” she said.
Other causes of redness and rosacea are heat, sunlight, stress, and even spicy foods, according to the skincare professional.
“Reducing exposure to these triggers can help calm rosacea,” she explained.
Kintis said that “skincare products do not have to be expensive to see results,” so she shared her top budget-friendly anti-aging products from Farmhouse Fresh.
Her favorite is FarmHouse Fresh’s Moon Dip Youthful Complexion’s Facial Mousse, $49, which is full of “powerhouse ingredients” and “firming peptides” and “retinol to firm, soften, and hydrate the skin.”
Kintis said face masks also are a great choice to give the skin a little extra anti-aging boost and reduce “the look of wrinkles and sagging.”
The Mighty Tighty Turmeric & Banana Tightening Mask, $36, contains turmeric, purple coneflower, and banana, which are all rich in antioxidants, pro-vitamin A, carotenoids, and phenolics.
As an “oily, acne-prone individual,” one of her favorite products is FarmHouse Fresh’s C of Change Clinical Peel Pads, $59, with 2% salicylic acid that absorbs excess oil and treats breakouts.
“These are always in my weekly product rotation as these can help break down dead skin cells to prevent breakouts from forming,” she said.
Another staple of hers is FarmHouse Fresh’s Watercress Hydration Cascade Moisturizer, $43.
She reminded beauty lovers that “oily skin needs hydration as well.”
“Using an oil-free gel moisturizer is a perfect choice to offer lightweight hydration so that the skin does not overproduce oil,” she explained.
