At a seminar held at the National Cricket Academy here on Wednesday, former India captains and head coaches Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid spoke to match referees about different facets of running a game on the field.
In addition to Dravid, who will take over as head coach of the Rajasthan Royals in the 2025 Indian Premier League, and Kumble, the participants heard presentations from Elite Panel umpire Nitin Menon, former India pacer Javagal Srinath, and Education Head, NCA, Sujith Somasundar.
Several domestic match referees, including the seasoned Manu Nayyar, participated in the discussion and exchanged views on a range of topics.
Nitin and Srinath, who have both overseen matches since 2006, recently participated in the T20 World Cup and exchanged stories from the main event.
One of the few umpires to have officiated in more than 250 One-Day Internationals is the former Indian quick.
On fact, both Srinath and Nitin were retained on the ICC Elite Panel of referees and umpires earlier this year.
