E-bikes are swiftly becoming one of the most popular ways to get around cities and college campuses, but popular models are starting to become much more expensive. Thankfully, Walmart has been rolling back prices on loads of e-bikes and even e-scooters all summer, and recently, a model that conveniently folds up received a massive near-$600 discount.
The Colorway Foldable Electric Bike is now on sale at Walmart for as low as $410—up to 59% off the normal retail price of $1,000. These e-bikes are on the rise in popularity at Walmart, already having received over 650 five-star ratings from shoppers who say they're "versatile and light" and that their ability to fold is a "huge bonus." They're currently available in two colors—black with green decals white with black decals—and neither costs more than $459 right now. And, while most e-bikes have steeping shipping charges tacked on to them, this one will ship for free.
This basic e-bike runs on a 500-watt motor, hits speeds of up to about 20 mph, and has a total drive range between 21 and 43 miles, depending on which mode is being used—throttle, pedal assist, or bicycle. It's equipped with great safety features, including dual disc brakes, head and tail lights, and reflectors, and it's rated IP54, which means its electrical components can withstand dust and light splashes from puddles. It also comes with a display unit that shows your speed, distance traveled, and battery power. This bike isn't the beefiest or most substantial model, but it's a great option for city commuters, college students, and anybody else just looking to cruise around for fun.
Those who have brought this e-bike home say it's more than reliable. "A great bike for the money," one shopper said. "My eighth-grader uses the bike to go to school three miles away. Plenty of battery and good speed (15 mph). The built-in rack is nice to have and fenders are helpful if the weather turns wet."
Others say it's one of the best value picks you'll find online. "I love my Colorway bike—great find," a shopper said. "Works perfectly…If you're looking for a nice electric bike, this one fits the bill. It's not too expensive with great features." Another shopper agreed, saying, "Better than expected. Comes with fold up pedals and shock-absorbing seat post."
If you're looking for a way to make getting around town or campus easier but aren't looking to break the bank, Colorway's Foldable Electric Bike should be high on your list as one of the best value buys online, especially while it's just above $400 at Walmart.
