Jenna Ortega shared her thoughts on gender-swapped casting decisions in a new interview.
The 21-year-old Wednesday actress is currently starring in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the latest from director Tim Burton.
During an interview with MTV, Jenna was asked if she’d be interested in working with Tim on a reboot of Edward Scissorhands, with the lead being gender-swapped into Edith. The actress shared her thoughts on the topic, and her response touched on the thought of casting a female version of James Bond, too.

Jenna made it clear that she wasn’t into the idea of switching a character’s gender.
“I love that there’s a lot more female leads nowadays,” she explained. “I think that’s so special, but we should have our own.”
She continued, saying, “I don’t like it when it’s like a spinoff — I don’t want to see like Jamie Bond. You know? I want to see another badass.”
The most recent James Bond actor Daniel Craig also shared his thoughts on seeing a female 007. As did recent Bond girl Ana de Armas.
