The nation’s first second gentleman Doug Emhoff is on a mission to also become the country’s first “first gentleman” and will speak at a Los Angeles campaign reception for Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday.
No further details are currently available about the timing or location of the event. On Friday, he is scheduled to speak at a campaign reception in Chicago.
Emhoff is no stranger to the campaign trail. He toured the country speaking on Harris’s behalf during her unsuccessful bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2019. As Second Gentleman, he has visited almost 40 states touting the Biden-Harris administration’s accomplishments.
And since Harris rose to the top of the Democratic ticket in July, Emhoff has been busier then ever promoting his wife nationally and internationally.
On Saturday, he traveled to Allentown, Penn., for a “Latinos con Harris-Walz” event with Pennsylvania Latino leaders and community members. On Monday, he delivered remarks at Congressman Bobby Scott’s 47th Annual Labor Day Cookout in Newport News, VA.
Last month, Emhoff led the Presidential Delegation to the the Olympic Games Closing Ceremony, where he also headlined a campaign fundraiser for Harris. Thursday’s Los Angeles event will take him much closer to his and Harris’s Brentwood home.
