EAST ELMHURST, Queens (PIX11) -- A woman was arrested after TSA agents found a loaded handgun in her purse at LaGuardia Airport.
Security agents found the .32 caliber handgun loaded with seven bullets in the woman’s bag as she went through TSA security, officials said.
The woman, from Florida, said her husband had placed the gun in her purse without her knowing. She told officials he had a concealed carry permit in another state and drove to New York.
Police arrested the woman and charged her with multiple weapons violations. She also faces a civil penalty fine. Penalties for carrying weapons can reach as much as $15,000.
