ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- According to the Albany County Sheriff's Office, an Albany man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly possessing narcotics, including fentanyl. Deputies said Barsha D. Oliver, 30, was charged with third, fourth, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Deputies said they were patrolling Albany to reduce crime when they stopped Oliver on the street near Central Avenue and Lexington Avenue around 12:57 p.m. Additionally, Deputies said the stop was regarding an ongoing narcotics investigation in which they seized 11 grams of cocaine and 33 glassine bags of fentanyl in Oliver's possession.
Deputies added that Oliver possessed the drugs for distribution. He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Tuesday afternoon.
