The price of Canva subscriptions will see a significant increase next year as the company focuses on its expansion into generative AI features.
Canva Teams will be the tier that will be most affected, as the price is jumping by over 300%. It hasn’t yet been confirmed, but it’s not believed to be impacting those on the Pro or Enterprise plans.
While the graphic design company has previously publicly shared updates when pricing has changed, the most recent decision has seemingly only been communicated through emails to customers.
For some, they could soon be paying a whopping $500 a year in comparison to the $119.99 that they’re currently signed up to.

In its announcement to customers through email, the company offered a discount. In the screenshots shared across social media, the discount ranges from 30- 40 percent.
It’s not just those in the United States who will be hit. Information Age reports that in Canva’s home country of Australia, the $39.99 AUD per month fee for five users is switching to $40.50 AUD for each user. The rise will see a team of five go from paying $480 AUD (roughly $323 USD) to $2,430 AUD (around $1,636 USD) per year.
With the news hitting customers’ inboxes, many have taken to social media to have their say on the changes.
One user, who goes by Jem on X, has asked for alternatives to the platform. “Anyone got alternatives to Canva?
“Pricing increase is an absolute joke. Would have thought seeing the backlash that Adobe got, they wouldn’t do something like this. No piece of software is worth an increase like this #RIPCanva.”
