Former President Trump said his competitor, Vice President Harris, is seeing “problems” with her campaign in New Hampshire.
“Comrade Kamala Harris sees there are problems for her campaign in New Hampshire because of the fact that they disrespected it in their primary and never showed up,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social site.
Harris is hosting a campaign event Wednesday in Portsmouth, N.H.
Trump said the cost of living in the Granite State is “through the roof,” and energy bills are “some of the highest in the country,” calling the housing market the most unaffordable in history.
“I protected New Hampshire’s First-In-The-Nation Primary and ALWAYS will!” Trump said of the state’s early primary in January, which he comfortably won against GOP challenger United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley.
“To my friends in New Hampshire, get out and vote TRUMP,” his post said. “Together, we will make your State and America Strong, Safe, and Prosperous AGAIN!”
According to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, Harris has an 82 percent chance of winning New Hampshire.
Once seen as a swing state with moderate voters, New Hampshire has swung blue in every presidential election except for former President George W. Bush’s 2000 win. In 2016, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton won the state by just 0.3 percentage points, and in 2020, President Biden beat Trump by 7 percentage points.
Even with a narrow margin last cycle, top Trump volunteers are ditching their efforts in New Hampshire because the Trump campaign determined that it is “no longer a battleground state.” Volunteers were directed to instead turn their attention to Pennsylvania, The Boston Globe reported.
Tom Mountain, a former official with the Massachusetts GOP and vice chair for Trump, said in an email to supporters that Trump is sure to “lose by an even higher margin” than in 2016 and 2020. It’s a change of pace from the Republican efforts to win the state prior to Biden dropping out of the race, the outlet reported.
