EXPERIENCING a wardrobe malfunction can be downright humiliating.
One woman’s experience left her embarrassed all day with a dress that had a mind of its own.
A Redditor had a wardrobe malfunction with her dress at an event (stock photo)[/caption]Redditor Macramelampshade posted the debacle in a comment on the platform.
“I wore one of my favorite dresses looks-wise,” she said.
“[The dress] always betrays me as you’re about to see.”
She was on her way to a gallery tour where people working in the fashion industry would be in attendance.
“I’ve gained a few pounds but I really wanted to wear this dress for reasons, so I brought my Spanx and figured I’d make do.”
The closure of the dress was the main culprit of the disaster.
“I didn’t take into account it only closes with snaps,” she said.
“It was fine when I tried it at home if I left the bottom one undone to just have a slit, but I forgot about the need to, you know, function and sit.
“So I get all glammed up, this is the only dress I have for the day mind you, go down to meet everyone, take a seat and hear, ‘Pop pop pop pop.’
“Mind you, this is a fairly noticeable dress with this crowd, so even if I could have snuck back and changed, I didn’t have anything else and someone would have noticed.”
She added that the rest of the event wasn’t very forgiving,
“Gallery and snacks turned into a seated lunch and a full day sightseeing excursion with me in a dress that was coming fully open down the entire front all day,” she said.
“Oh well, the photo opportunity was worth it.”
Other Redditors also shared their own wardrobe malfunctions in the thread.
“I was in a meeting presenting something standing up, so in full view,” another said.
“And [I] didn’t notice that the top button of my blouse had come undone, leading to my flashing a lot of chest and some bra for the entire presentation.
“I was using my hands to point at various slides so I’m sure everyone got an eyeful.”
“On my honeymoon in Europe I was wearing a flowy babydoll top,” yet another wrote. “And the wind came and blew it up so some people got a nice view of my bra lol.”
“As a plus one at my new boyfriend’s cousins wedding, I wore a super cute midi dress with a slit at the back. While dancing I felt a tear and ran to the bathroom,” one more wrote.
“The stupid thing had ripped all the way up to my butt. I managed to find some safety pins and somewhat salvaged the evening, but it was a super awkward way to get to know his family members.”
